iPhone backup

With the new iPad Pro 4th generation, are you able to backup your iPhone without having to use desktop or lap top?

Understood. However, with iCloud you’re not able

to to do a complete backup like you would if you used iTunes. My question is whether the new iPad would be able to backup my iPhone instead of using iTunes on my iMac. Thanks

Not yet. iPadOS still doesn't have all possibilities that you have on macOS, so you still need a computer for local backups.
