I know that some people would say series 1 is outdated in 2020 but i still love it. Apple’s website says Series 1 can be upgraded to Watch OS 6 but I can’t manage to do it. I tried unpairing using and different iOS versions. What I’m doing wrong? Both Apple Watch and Watch app saying that device is up to date.

Ensure you have Apple Watch Series 1, not the original Apple Watch. The original Apple Watch from 2015 cannot be updated past watchOS 4. All other models of Apple Watch can be updated to watchOS 6. You can check what model you own here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204507

Also, what iPhone do you have? I believe you need a 6s or newer to upgrade to WatchOS6.
