iPhone 8 making a strange beep sound

My iPhone 8 makes a beep sound from the speakers and partial vibration upon compressing the home button. It feels as if the pressure on the home button dictates how loud the sound and/or vibration is.

Holding down the button is how you activate Siri. The audio feedback tells you Siri is ready and listening.
