For Apple TV (1st generation) and other Apple devices that haven't received updates after 2013, you can log into your Apple ID by putting in your Apple ID and password, then when given your Two-Factor code on another device, enter your Apple ID again and your password immediately followed by the two-factor code.
Example:
Apple ID: john.appleseed@icloud.com
Password: Password
Two-Factor Code: 123456
Apple ID: john.appleseed@icloud.com
Password: Password123456

Verify that your model Apple TV is really 1st generation.
If your Apple TV is a black box, then it is at least 2nd generation.
The Apple TV (1st generation) cannot access the iTunes Store anymore. [1]
The Apple TV (1st generation) cannot be synced through modern versions of iTunes (12.7 or later) anymore.
The Apple TV (1st generation) is technically and functionally obsolete.
