Everything is missing now

I just posted a little while ago about how my laptop just shut down out of nowhere. Now all my files are gone. As if ive never had a file on my laptop. Nothing is here anymore.

MacBook Pro 15”, macOS 10.13

Open finder, and click the finder word on the TOP bar and click preferences.

then click the checkbox where it shows “Macintosh HD”

then close preferences and click Macintosh HD.

go to /Users/(User)

then navigate to documents, desktop etc and see if the files are there.
