Hello himanshu245,

Thanks for replying back with the results of checking Activity Monitor. I have a few steps you can try that might help to narrow this down.

How does it work in safe mode? This will help to rule out certain software causes: How to use safe mode on your Mac

Also, I recommend testing in a newly-created administrator account. This will tell you if the issue is system-wide or user-specific: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Feel free to post the results of testing here.

Enjoy your day.

Hello himanshu245,

We appreciate you posting your question about Safari! I'd want to make sure I was able to watch videos as well, and I'll be happy to see what help I can offer.

Does the freezing only happen with videos from YouTube, or does it happen with videos on other websites as well?

Does it help if you click Apple menu () > Restart and try it again?

As a test, try opening Activity Monitor on your Mac and keep an eye on the % CPU column as shown in this resource: How to use Activity Monitor on your Mac. Do any apps or processes appear to be using significant resources when the issue is occurring? This might help to narrow the issue down a bit.

I hope this helps!

Please reply back with what you find. Take care.

thanks for your help.

no, the freezing occurs only on youtube and whenever i use youtube, it just shows www.youtube.com in activity monitor using 80 to 40 % of the cpu . it keeps on fluctuating . like it drops to 50 when i stop a video . and spikes to 80 when i start a video . as far as other resources using cpu is concerned , there is only one process widowserver taking a high amount of cpu usage.
