Yes there is a chance, unfortunately it won't be as simple as either you or I would prefer it to be.
After restarting your Mac normally, open (Apple menu) > System Preferences... > Network.
The Network Preferences window will open. At the left you will probably find Wi-Fi is already selected since I am assuming you're using a wireless network. There should be an Advanced... button at the window's lower right. Click that button.
A window will drop down resembling the following:

Are any of the checkboxes on the left (under "Select a protocol...") selected?
Next, select the DNS tab. You should see something like this:
What, if anything, is shown under DNS Servers? Whatever appears in it will be "greyed out" as in the above example, but describe what you see.
Then, click Cancel, and close the window or quit System Preferences.
