I just purchased an iPhone XR and I am having trouble downloading apps from the app store. When I choose an app and tap "Get" then it tells me to confirm the the side button. The side button pops up and says double click to install but it (toggles) moves back and forth and when I try to tap it right quick it does not do anything.

Thank you so much - I'm glad you can't see how red my face is right now (lol). How embarrassing. I was just so used to the fingerprint (touch ID) so I was thinking I was suppose to touch something on the screen.

You need to press the actual physical side button on the outside of the iPhone, not the image on screen.
Its o.k. It happens.
