Had a splash on my iphone, wiped it clean and after sometime, the diplay stopped working. There is no activation of LCI - the phone was working but the display did not. Why Apple is boasting that the iphones are water proof or resistant when it isn't

Because water resistance is not a permanent condition.
Has someone at Apple actually told you that the failure is not covered and why?
Then why the liquid damage is not part of the warranty ? Even the LCI is not activated - what does have apple to say - will the replace the screen/refund if the LCI is not activated ?
