left airpod won’t work and has red exclamation point

My left airpod is completely not working. My airpods also won’t reset, i’ve read you need to hold the back button and it will flash white then amber but mine never turns amber. i’ve tried so many things and the left one still has the red exclamation and won’t work. does anyone know how i can fix this?
