I have a phone my employer gave me. The Apple ID still has my old work Id as the Apple ID. How do I get rid of my old work email and use my current email as my Apple ID? Please note:my current email is associates with another Apple device.

I have a phone my old employer gave me that has my old work email as the Apple ID. I want to change it to my current email address but the problem is that email address is associated with an iPod I have. Am I going to have to delete my Apple ID (old employer email) and then add my phone to my current email (iPod account)? Thank you.

You don't need to delete the work ID. Use the article below as a guide of where to sign out of the work ID on your phone and then sign in with the personal ID.

What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support.

When changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. See Winston Churchill's response in the below discussion. Also set up Family Sharing to keep access to your apps/purchases.
