(com.apple.Compressor.CompressorKit.ErrorDomain error -1.)

I have been trying for hours now to export my imovie as a file onto my laptop and nothing seems to be working. I have gone through nearly every youtube video and website possible to find a solution. i have tried the safe boot multiple times and the disk utility thing apple recommended on there website. Nothing seems to be working, its driving me insane. Does anyone else have any other solutions to this?

cheers

Hi, nicole,

The Compressor Kit Error message has been reported with increasing frequency

of late. No universal fix so far. The fix that has worked the most has been

starting up in Safe Mode (see Finder menu for instructions) and then after everything

loads immediately shutting down and rebooting in normal mode. However, you already

have tried that without success.

Here's a link, though older, that pretty much describes where we are today

with the Compressor Kit Error:

There may be some proposed solutions in the above link that will work for

you.

All else failing, try calling Apple Support. The techs there are very savvy

and also have the capability of remotely accessing your computer. Click on the

Contact Support item in the upper right hand corner of this screen and navigate

to a box that will ask for your telephone number so that Apple Support can call

you back. I think that the file path is Contact Support/Mac OS/Applications/iMovie,

or somthing like that.

Good luck with this. If you have time, post back with your results, as it

may assist others who have this perplexing issue.

The update procedure is to your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the trash. Then sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You will see

your purchases displayed, including iMovie. Redownload/update iMovie from there. If not successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash and return it to the Applications folder.
