IPad disabled

My grandsons iPad has "iPad is disabled" on the screen and I have tried everything and it will not reset. I tried to chat but had to have serial number which I was informed was on the iPad which I could not get to because it was disabled?

If your iPad is locked due to too many attempts in enterIng the correct device passcode, and is disabled, you’ll need to follow this procedure:
