Anyone using Paralells desktop Lite FREE?
I am seeing on google that this is a free software but when I try installing it it is asking for trial or purchase option?
https://parallels-desktop-lite.en.softonic.com/mac
Any idea please?

Because softonic pays to elevate their results in your searches.
They still list it as "free" because you can download the 'trial' version without having to pay for it... That doesn't mean the product is "free".
The link is old. It points to v.1.3.3 which in fact was free and the page is from a year ago. I wouldn't download from Softonic but they are hardly lying. There are millions of out-of-date pages online.
Version 1.4 came out in (I believe) Jan 2019, and now there is a v1.50 in the Mac App Store with a name change to just Parallel's Desktop — without all of the features of the non-App Store Parallel's Desktop product. Needs 10.14.6 or later, and is very much subscription-ware ($79 USD)/year to use it.
FWIW, I installed Parallels Desktop Lite when it came out whenever that was. I have been running Parallels Desktop 1.5.0 since it was released. So I am familiar with both the product and the cost. Thanks for dropping by. 😎
I also have VMWare Fusion and VirtualBox installed if you wish to let me know their details as well. :)
#1. don't EVER download anything from softonic.
#2. If you want to know what the actual deal is, go directly to parallels.
There is no "free" version of parallels.
Parallels.com
Here you go…
I see, Wonder why it is showing as free on google search, anyway, thanks.
FWIW, there was a time where Parallels Desktop Lite was in fact free. Parallels changed it to a subscription model at some point. v. 1.4 I think.
As I mentioned, "Parallels Desktop Lite" was in fact free when it was released and was available as such through the App Store.
Yes, it was. It no longer is. Softonic is lying.
I see, appreciate the answers and help guys.
I still use Parallel's Desktop Lite v1.3.3 to run an El Capitan guest. I have been using VirtualBox since it was a pup.
I started using VB Sept 2009.
