Reorder Emergency Contacts list

I deleted my husbands old phone number from Emergency Contacts on my iPhone 11 and added his new number. Now he appears at the bottom of my emergency contacts list. How can I re-order the list so he is at the top?

You cannot reorder existing emergency contacts, but you can delete and re-add them.

Thanks, I think. I deleted all the names and re-entered them 3 of the 4, but the 4th name is greyed out in contacts. I can see all the information, but I can't choose it. Same thing when I go into contacts (there are actually quite a few in contacts that are greyed out). Is there something that need I need to change in contacts?

Did you type each contact’s information in to your iPhone from scratch? Or was there some sort of data import?

Do you somehow electronically share your contacts?

If you don’t share, you typed them all in yourself, you never accepted Siri contacts, and your iPhone is not restricted, then it’s hard to imagine why any would be grayed out.
