My iMessage is signed out and it won’t let me sign back it

I currently don’t have service so I use my iCloud to text and call. I tried to send a message and it said not delivered, I went to settings to see what the problem is and the sign in button was greyed out. I tried signing in multiple times and it wouldn’t work. Why can’t i sign in?

Although you may not have received an error message, see If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201422 Maybe this document will be enough to solve your problem.

Have you checked Settings/Screen Time for any restrictions?


Messages Troubleshooting.   


Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.


Try a restart.


Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch         


Try a forced restart.


Reset Device.      


If necessary


Hard reset.        


Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.


Restore to Factory setting.      


Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.
