Apple Music Family with iPhone and Android

Can a iPhone and a Android phone share the Apple Music Family plan? I understand that the Android will have the Apple Music app from its App Store and my iPhone will have its app from Apple. We’re not looking to do the normal Family sharing as you would with a household full of iPhones. Just the Family Music plan.
