Delete a large file
When I try to delete a large (3.46GB) .mov file I get the following error message OSStatus error -47. Please can you advise me what to do to delete this file.

This error notification shows up when a file is being used for some reason.
When a user quit/force quit the application, the file is no more active, enabling the user to delete it.

Quit the application or force quit the application related to this file.
Shutdown the computer from menu in the menu bar.
Restart the computer and try deleting the file.
Thanks very much Dominic23. However, just now I discovered that the menu gave me the option of moving the file to trash, which I did, and then I could empty the trash can with no difficulty. Quite why it wouldn't let me delete the file, I don't know.
