i have an ipad i would like to facetime on. The apple id is not linked to a phone number. I see i can get number on google voice but how do i get that on the apple id so i can use the ipad for facetime
You can only use a telephone number for FaceTime on an iPad if that iPad is linked to an iPhone. So simply adding it to your AppleID will not make it useable for FaceTime nor imessages on an iPad. That requires that cellular telephone number to be in use with an iPhone, and the iPad needs to be connected to that iPhone to use that number to call from or receive calls to.

Go into the settings and Apple ID. There you will see the place to add phone numbers or emails to your apple ID
