Changing Apple ID on iPad + Password Issue

My personal iPad's Apple ID is my work email, however, I do not want this to be the case and would like to have my personal email as it's Apple ID - similarly to my personal laptop and phone. When I try to "Sign Out" I'm asked to enter the Apple ID password for my work email to turn off Find My iPad, however, when I submit the password which I know is correct it won't accept it and now my work email (Apple ID) has been locked for security reasons.


Put simply I want to get rid of the work Apple ID on my iPad and to use my other personal Apple ID instead.


Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If your Apple ID is locked or disabled - Apple Support.    


If you have changed your ID or password, have you followed the steps in this article?


What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support.      


If necessary, contact Apple ID Support.
