Screen of MacBook Air is glitching at the bottom and spreading up

My MacBook Air is glitching at the bottom of the screen with colorful horizontal lines / grey boxes/mirroring effect. It started small but has continued to spread upwards. Does anyone know the cause or a fix for this? (photo is the bottom half of my screen and the warping starts just below where the cursor is.)

Sorry to hear that. Do you have a question? Please read Writing an effective Apple Support Communities question. We are here to help. We are all users. We are not mind-readers nor clairvoyants. We only know what you write down and tell us. Be specific and thorough. Include your hardware information and installed version of macOS. Try to write clearly. Think about what you want to say before you write it down, then re-read it to see if it makes sense.
