Touch Bar Volume Issues on MacBook Pro

When set to the regular MacBook Pro Speaker output, the volume controls on the Touch Bar grey out and cannot be used. If I expand the Touch Bar menu I am able to use the buttons, but those are also greyed out despite them working. The main issue is that the slider doesn't work which is what I usually use. If I switch my output to an external speaker, I am able to adjust regularly.

I found a post that mentions that is a but in Catalina, I tried this and resolved the problem:

"When the "Enable slow keys" are enabled (system preferences -> accesibility -> keyboard) the volume controls (maybe other control keys too?) on the touchbar do not work. "

Greetings, justinhg!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you're having an issue with the Touch Bar not working properly when you're trying to control your MacBook Pro volume. You should check out this article for How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac as well as this article for How to reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac.

Let me know the results and have a great day!
