Can anyone help me with a output controls on Garageband so that I can talk and hear myself at the same time?

Hi, I'm having a problem with Garageband. When I plug in my interface, I can record my voice, but I cannot hear it at the same time. I have changed all my outputs within garage band to recognize the interface, but when I try to do that on the system preferences it says The selected device has no output controls. Any help would be appreciated.
