4k external screen not working in boothcamp

In OSX i had trouble connecting my screen i had to lower resolution before it worked.

But in boothcamp through windows i knows there is a second monitor but it will not give me the option to lower resolution to fix the issue.

Can anyone advice me how to get my screen working properly in boothcamp?

I use two Dell U2715H monitors using USBc-to-DP on a 2018 13-in 2018rMBP at 2560x1440. Your ProVega 64 GPU will support 4K. It may be worth the effort to try a USBc-to-DP cable.

From MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018) - Technical Specifications,

Video Support

Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display at millions of colors and:

  • Up to two displays with 5120-by-2880 resolution at 60Hz at over a billion colors
  • Up to four displays with 4096-by-2304 resolution at 60Hz at over a billion colors

Thunderbolt 3 digital video output

  • Native DisplayPort output over USB‑C
  • VGA, HDMI, DVI, and Thunderbolt 2 output supported using adapters (sold separately)

I also tried restarting windows(bootcamp) in save mode with a low resolution setting duplicating the screen then is possible but as soon as i try to extend it disappears, also in normale settings lowering the resolution and then duplicating doesn’t work. (This way i was able to reach the settings for the monitor but setting it to a lower resolution like on osx doesn’t seem to solve it)

Misclicked the first time so can no longer mark this as the correct answer but put that on the first reply.

No worries!

but thank you very much this is indeed the correct solution it now also takes the higher resolution in OSX.

Excellent! Glad to see it working properly.
