If you remember the name, type the name into a spotlight window.

If you do not remember the name, scan something else and while saving, carefully make a note of the folder it saves into,

OR use Finder to search for files modified today.

Are you using HP's Scan-ware, Preview or Image Capture to Scan the Images?

Try this, open Image Capture in your App Folder and Scan a new image using Image Capture and note where the Image is being Saved To.

Also note: that you can easly tell Image Capture to Save the Scanned Images to a verity of different locations.

Default name for scans on my HP printer are Scan001 etc, try typing that into Spotlight to see if it picks them up.

You could maybe try the Pictures folder.

If you open the scanning software press the Advanced button and this should give you more options which will probably

include an item where you can select or create which folder scans will be saved to.
