How to Clear The Cache:

Perform this Directly in Safari

I. First, Unhide: The Develop Menu

1. Open: Safari
2. Go To: Preferences
3. Click: Advanced
4. Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar

II. Then Clear the Cache:

1. Go To: the Develop menu
2. Select: Empty Caches

Should definitely exist. So yes odd. Have you looked visually by using go option key to show the hidden user library.

Select library and check. If there check on your keyboard layout to ensure the tilde mark is actually being entered.

Just some thoughts as I’m chasing a very odd keyboard error here at the moment.

Removing the contents of the ~/Library/Caches folder isn't really necessary, because all Apple, and most third-party applications will simply write their particular items right back in that folder. It will also cause all associated applications to run slow until they have rebuilt what they need in that Caches folder.

This should only be done in Safe Boot mode, followed by a normal reboot, and then emptying of the Trash to avoid file in use issues.

If he wants to find the caches folder

he needs to enter

~/Library/Caches

In other words, it should be this:

~/Library/Caches

not...

~Library/Caches

So, include the slash in front of "Library". This folder should show up.

It should be ~/Library/Caches not

as you have written ~Library/Caches

Wrong cache. OP was not discussing the Safari Cache, but rather the one located in the referenced tild filesystem location.
