Hello! How do you change an m4a file into an mp3 file. I've managed to transfer my voice memo (m4a file) onto my I-tunes on my MacBook Air, and now I need to convert it to an mp3 file so I can share it.
Grateful for any help.

Many thanks for your reply. So I-Tunes on the Mac Book Air will only let me convert to an AAC file (which when I googled that is the latest audio file format). However, when I try and put it on desktop and share it in an e-mail, it simply reverts back to an m4a file. Any suggestions as to how to convert and share so that anyone can open file whatever computer they have?

You need to change your import settings on the preferences tab to MP3 so that MP3 is offered in the convert submenu.

Select the song in your library, and then go to File-> Convert->Create [format] Version.
One of the options should be MP3.
