Is it safe to quickly wash an iPhone 11 Pro with hand soap and water to remove potential contagions, given COVID-19 concerns? Phones could be one of the ultimate fomites given how frequently we touch them.

Please do not wash iPhone, maybe a damp cloth wipe will do. I recently got water into the phone by running under tap pointing directly in the middle of the screen. Water managed to get in! Apple needs to stop all the marketing material telling people it's water-resistance.
