How do I use my Apple ID Funds to make purchases inside my game App? It keeps wanting to use my debit card instead but I have money in my Apple ID account that I want to use

I have money available in my Apple ID account. My Debit Card will not go thru because I do not have funds in that account and I don’t have a card to add. But I would like to use my $$ under my Apple ID Payment Method is there a way for me to do that? I’m playing a game and want to make a purchase in the app but it keeps saying insufficient funds because it’s only recognizing
