Need to update my iPad 3 - Model MC/744LL/A but can't get past iOS 9.3.5. Is my device too old or can this be done and, if so, how? Thanks - don't have the $$ to invest in a new one :-(.

Indeed iOS 9.3.5 is the latest version the iPad 3 can use. A later iOS version requires a newer iPad.
