Can I restore mailboxes from iCloud?

I lost all the "on my Mac" mailboxes when I upgraded to Catalina. They disappeared from my iPhone and my Macbook. But they are still on iCloud. They are also on my iPad, and I put that device in airplane mode until I could figure this out..

Is there any way to restore the mailboxes to my Macbook and iPhone from iCloud? I don't have a Time Machine backup, so iCloud and my iPad are the only places they exist. I've searched for this answer and cannot seem to sort it out.

As per the article https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mail/mlhlp1021/mac

  • On My Mac: Mailboxes you create in On My Mac are local, meaning you can access them only on this computer.
  • Account: Mailboxes created on your email account’s mail server can be accessed on any computer or device where you use the account.

You can set up an imap account in Mac to sync those mail boxes that are on iCloud server see the article : https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mail/mail35803/mac

The mails boxes that were locally created in the mail side bar can't be recovered as you have lost ( you might have deleted ) , perhaps the mails that you saved inside them still exist on iCloud server .

You can sign in with same Apple ID and password used in Mac on your iPhone to get those mailboxes on iCloud.com and turn off airplane mode https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204234

If iPhone was synced previously to the same network as Mac and iPad the mail boxes will start syncing in the iPhone also .
