Apple Music

I finally got into my Apple ID and I opened Apple Music to login and pay for a month. My account is logged in but it’s telling me that i can follow my own account rather than edit it ... I want to have control over my account rather than see it through the perspective of someone else viewing my Apple Music account. What do I do?
