I am trying to set up my Apple Watch series 1. I’ve had it for a long time, and have not used it. When I get to the point of trying to pair it, the viewfinder does not work, so I try to manually pair it, and the 6-digit code is not displayed. My phone is updated completely, and I have restarted the phone and watch many times.

Try this;
Press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for about 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.Wait a few seconds, then hold down just the side button for about 20 seconds until the “erase all settings” prompt shows up on the screen, then tap on it, then tap on the green check button.
And then try pairing again.

Do I wait for the apple logo to disappear or not?
I have not been able to successfully ever get the prompt to Erase all settings
Don't wait for the logo to disappear,when you see the logo just keep the side button pressed for about 20 seconds,just be patient.
