View your original packaging. It would be right on there.

Understood. So, How do you know that someone stole it?

If you misplaced it, try ringing it, seeing if it pops up. Also, text it, asking whomever found it to call you back.

Perhaps It's Placed Aside:

If someone were honest enough, then they may have turned it over to local law enforcement. Also, backtrack your locations, and see if it was placed aside. If it was just today, and you were at a store, I would assume it was an essential business that you are at (i.e. Food Supermarket). So, pop back into the store, seeing if the manager (or whomever else), may have placed it aside.

Find the serial number or IMEI on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod ... You cannot track using iMEI number. but you may need it so keep it handy
