MacBook Air not charging

MacBook Air (2014) saying "battery not charging" when I chick on the battery symbol (top right). The charging cable has an orange light. It doesn't go over 40% and drops in power if I disconnect from the charging cable (then won't go over the percentage to which it has dropped in charge).

I have tried:

  • resetting the SMC (no change)
  • restarting in safe mode (no change)
  • checking the battery condition (it says normal)
  • first aid on all disks (no problems found)
  • Reinstalling macOS (its running the latest software, no change)

The power cable is working as it charges another MacBook Air.

Any advice/help would be much appreciated! Thanks :)
