You should have an Apple ID for your laptop and your iPad. Your husband should have a DIFFERENT Apple ID for his desktop and his iPad. You can set up Family Sharing to share content—>Family Sharing - Apple Support. But this also lets you keep your content such as texts, photos, bookmarks, Contacts, Calendars, etc from becoming intermixed except when you want to share.
You should not be sharing an Apple ID with anyone at all.
If you have had 2 factor authentication enabled for more than 2 weeks, or you enabled it when you created the ID, you can not disable it.

You should NOT be sharing an ID with anyone.
