Good morning,
I am trying to shorten a video so i can put the photo in the album. It says
To shorten a video, double click It and choose trim from the action (gear) menu.
Where is that menu?

Do you want to extract a still frame from video to use in a book, or do you want to share a shaorter video clip?
The "Actions" menu in the video controls is looking like a gears icon: There you will find the "Trim" command.
To add a video to a Photos album, i.e. one you create in the library and reside in the sidebar under Albums as shown in this screenshot
one does not have to shorten any video.

What system and Photos versions are you running?
Again, what type of album are you referring to?
I need to put a photo in the album but this has movement and i would like to shorten it.
