If I backup my data and pics, can application data be restored?

Hello, i have my iPhone 5 currently using. I want to backup and restore my phone in order to make it faster. However, I have doubts about backing up of application data. For example, i have connected2me chats, whatsapp chats etc. These are important for me. If I backup my phone through iTunes or 3nd party applications in PC, can these data be restored?

iPhone 5, iOS 10

Backups from your computer

A computer backup of your device, which is not the same as a sync, includes almost all of your device's data and settings. A backup from a computer doesn't include:

Content from the iTunes and App Stores, or PDFs downloaded directly to Apple Books
Content synced from Finder or iTunes, like imported MP3s or CDs, videos, books, and photos
Data already stored in iCloud, like iCloud Photos, iMessages, and text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages
Face ID or Touch ID settings
Apple Pay information and settings
Apple Mail data
Activity, Health, and Keychain data (to back up this content, you'll need to use Encrypted Backup in iTunes.)

i understood that these data, (whatsapp, c2m) which is so important for me, will remain in my backup and i can restore these chats and data (pics in the apps etc.), am i right? I repeatly ask because of their importance, please forgive me. :)
