I get this message. "Your Apple Watch must be signed into iCloud to allow it to unlock your Mac" How do I sign into iCloud using the Apple Watch app?

When I try to enable unlocking my Macbook Pro with my Apple watch, a message box pops up

"Your Apple Watch must be signed into iCloud to allow it to unlock your Mac you can sign in using the apple watch app on your iphone"

I searched through the Apple Watch app on my iPhone and don't see a way to sign in or out of icloud.

How do I sign in using the apple watch app?

Rebooting my watch prompted the watch to prompt me to log into iCloud.

Really, the watch is controlled by my phone, so if my iPhone is logged in, the watch should be also.

It is interesting that it took about 2 minutes from the time that my watch say that I could enter my icloud credentials using my iPhone until the prompt

appeared on my watch.

Also, please don’t post links to support articles. URLs can change at any time, and the link will break at that time.

Best practice for forum answers is to include the full text of the answer in the post. That way the answer is still useful if the link is broken.
