I need to retreive a text message that I deleted on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. Messages are turned on in my icloud backup, but I do not see them when I log into my icloud account on my MacBook Pro. Can someone help me?

Since you sync message with iCloud, when you deleted it on your phone, it deleted from the cloud. iCloud is not an archive. It is a real time syncing service. You cannot get the message back. You could ask the person you were texting with to copy the message and send it back to you if you need it.

Does this apply to a message string also? I wasn't concerned about messages sent today, but the string from months past. I also have Time Machine on my MacBook Pro, would that be of any help? It would seem I should be able to retrieve the old portion of the string. Thank you!
If you sync with iCloud, any message (individual or string) you delete will be gone.
