Can only text to and from iPhones no other Manufacturer?

You can exchange iMessages with other iPhone users, and SMS/MMS with non-iPhone users. SMS/MMS is automatically enabled on your phone when your carrier provisions it on your account. So if it isn’t working you need to contact your cellular network provider.
