New iPad Pro 11 not compatible with Facebook app

I am getting notifications from FB (while using the app) that someone commented on one of my posts but when I click on the notifications icon the page goes blank and does not load. I reinstalled the app more than once. I restarted my iPad more than once. All the FB notifications settings are normal. I can access new notifications on all of my other devices and on my iPad if I use Safari instead of the FB app.

is this a compatibility issue?
