I just bought a pencil (second generation) for my iPad Pro (second generation) . Unfortunately, the iPad is not recognising the pencil. Bluetooth is not finding the pencil. I tried to switch off Bluetooth, switched off the iPad, reset the network settings. Nothing is working. Please advise.

As MichelPM has said, the older round Pencil is the one for anything Pro prior to the 3rd generation FaceID models. The 2nd Gen Pencils will only work with the 3rd & new 4th Gen Pro’s. Same applies to the Logitech Crayons. You need to make sure you get the correct one for you model.

The 2018, 2nd gen Apple Pencil does NOT work with the 2017, 2nd gen iPad Pro.
ONLY the 1st gen Apple Pencil, the one with silver, metalised band/cap works with your iPad.
You purchased the wrong version of the Apple Pencil.
