No Audiobooks in watch app

I have an iphone 11 pro max running IOS 13.4 and an apple watch Series 5 running watchOS 6.2 . I purchased an audio book through the apple "Books" app and I would like to use the feature described in this post to download part of the book onto my apple watch. https://support.apple.com/guide/watch/add-audiobooks-apd4fdb1d4b3/watchos . However, when navigating to the "Audiobooks" tab in the "Watch" app on my iphone, the screen says "No Audiobooks". My watch also says the same thing. The book shows up in the "Books" app and can be paused/play from the watch. What do i need to do to download the audio book onto my watch?
