iPad won’t open

I hadn’t used my iPad in a very long time and recently decided to use it. It has been charging for a day now but as soon as I open it, it says ‘iPad could not be activated’. What should I do? It’s been like this for awhile and it says to contact Apple support. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
