cannot send mail on ipad

Cannot send mail on iPad. Message says “user name or password for “STMP:xxxxxx@stmp.verizon.net” is incorrect. (I put x’s for my email address). Even though I never changed password or user name! I can send going via aol webmail, but I prefer using mail on iPad. Anyone else experiencing this?

Your should check that you’ve correctly set the Password for your SMTP (Send) email server:

Settings > Passwords & Accounts > [Your email account] > Account > SMTP > [Primary Server] > Password

Thanks, but coincidentally as soon as I posted this question, my test emails came thru. As I said I never changed password so didn’t understand why it wouldn’t go. But is there a way to see the password in settings on ipad to verify? All I see is dots, and I was going blind trying to count them to make sure it matched what I had for password? Thanks.
