AirPods audio not working

Why won’t my airpods play music at the same time it’s always the right that plays music and when I take the right out the left plays but when I put the right back in the left stops

AirPods don't work My AirPods connect to a device however it doesn't make the noise it does when it is connected. Every time I try to play music it disconnects it and plays it from the device. I have tried connecting to other devices like my phone and my MacBook however the same issue stays.
