Nope, was using safari. As you can see I was able to access the page in the app store, but when I press "get", I get the error from my screenshot.
On my computer when the link is used in firefox, the store does not even load. Just the post was written in firefox.
If it helps, Latest mac mini using Mac Catalina (latest version).
Trying to update to macOS High Sierra10.13,

"This copy of the Install macOS High Sierra.app application is damaged, and can‘t be used to install macOS"
Is there any other option to get High Sierra 10.13? ( I am currently am using 10.12.6)

Almost a year later and the issue with Firefox is persisting. Could Apple please address this problem or if it is on the side of Firefox post the link to the bugzilla bug they filed? (yes I know Apple does not read the forums and does not care)
I am stunned how difficult this is. The 2011 had hight Sierra 10.13.6. I want to give it away. so I created a USB clone of the operating system to boot from. Erased the have drive, deleted all the partitions. And I cannot down load 10.13 from Apple.
How can I get high Sierra 10.13 from Apple? Truly amazed. I've been messing with this for weeks. (A couple hours a day.)
I have read every post in this thread and I am trying to download High Sierra for an older iMac for replacing a broken ssd (27'' late 2009). I am using a 2018 macbook pro with Big Sur and still struggling to download High Sierra:
Using Safari and no other High Sierra on Applications... this is what I get (notice the Software Update Window on the right).
Why does Apple make things that hard? I have spent the whole day on this. This is only a F*** download!!
I replaced the SSD on the imac but the USBs for installing I have are Big Sur and Mojave, so not compatible with my iMac. How can I get my iMac back to life? This is truly frustrating.
Thanks for your reply but my previous post shows the error I get when you try to execute the PKG inside the DMG for both High Sierra and El Capitan in my 2018 Macbook Pro with Big Sur, in order to get the installer installed for creating the USB. So, as said, there is no way -from App store or direct download- to get the installer installed in Big Sur and thus no way to create the USB for El Capitan or High Sierra in Big Sur.
What I did is to install Snow Leopard from an external DVD in the original iMac's 1TB HD (because the secondary ssd was not detected by Snow Leopard as target HD). Then use Disk utility to properly format the ssd. Then clone system to the ssd and set the ssd as primary boot. Now it's time for upgrades... a couple of them with their respectives restarts. Now neither App Store or Updater shows any other updates. In order to get High Sierra I have first to update to El Capitan (download the dmg) and from there I have to Instal High Sierra.
Still not ended all the process...
"Come to apple!" they said. "It's easier!" they said... A windows or linux re-platform could take 30m as much and you could be able to install the latest version for an even older hardware.
Hi! in my previous reply Jan 23, 2021 9:57 PM in response to garret177
you can see what I get when pressing GET in the app store; it opens up the update but it says "update not found" as shown.
I got it solved the longest path: installing from a Snow Leopard DVD (luckily I kept it) and upgrading from there, then downloading El Capitan and applying the upgrades, then downloading High Sierra and upgrading again. The whole weekend spent doing "digital archeology" trying to get the correct answer or guide, failing again and again and finally get it solved the most painful way.
Is there an answer for why I can't download High Sierra from AppStore? why I get this "Update not found"?
Well, I'm at a loss to explain why you can't seem to download High Sierra to you 2018 Mac. And I'm not running Big Sur, so I can't try to duplicate your situation. Maybe someone else who is running Big Sur can explain your circumstance. I know you found a work-around, but it looks to be the looooong way around, and it would be good to have an easier way to download an earlier macOS.
I have an early 2020 (though says 2018) mac mini and it was not possible either. When I was talking with an apple rep, they mentioned it was not available beuase Iit could not run on the hardware. So I brought out an old snow leopard server disk reated a new image, then finally downloaded from the apple website.
I saw the note about using Safari browser (indeed Firefox does not work with app store), and used the links given, which caused Safari to launch App Store. I got a lovely page about High Sierra Features, but there was NO button or tab to click to "get" or "open" or "download" the software. How do I actually get it?
As I said use Safari as your browser.
Using Safari keeps me from being told that "the item is not available" in the U.S. iTunes store. But using Safari still yields the "copy is damaged." What now? This is excruciating.
Thank you! I will try this tonight. Though the 'broken' version it detected was gotten using this process....
