how to upload my whole computer files to icloud

Hi

My computer has 1T of memory and it's using 600gb right now. I bough 2T of space on iCloud hopping to upload my computer to the cloud. When I press Store in iCloud and Optimize Mac Store the back up on my iCloud its only 42gb. I don't understand how to upload the whole 600gb... any advice on how to?

Thank you!

Mac mini, macOS 10.15

iCloud is not a backup service and is not designed to capture your "whole computer".

It is a syncing service, so even if you copied files to iCloud Drive, they would also be present on your Mac.
