Transfer settings from Company iPhone to Personal iPhone

I have the following situation and am looking for guidance.

I have a company owned iPhone XR and company owned telephone number. This phone will be returned to the compnay in about one month. I have purchased a new iPhone 11 and will activate with a different carrier with a new different telephone number.

On the Company phone is is outlook office 365 (Exchange) for email, calander, contacts, and assorted company Apps. I also have on the Company iPhone personal Apps, settings, etc.

On the new iPhone I will be using my personal email, contacts, calendar, etc. These parameters are set up and running on my MAC and iPad. Synched and stored with iCloud.

I am trying to decide what would be the best way to set up the new iPhone 11.

  1. Delete the company email account (which also includes contacts and calendar) on the company iPhone. Make a backup of the company iPhone. Activate the new iPhone 11 restore to it from this backup.
  2. Activate the new iPhone 11 and manually configure.

Appreciate your repsonses.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes there are Configuration Profiles including Certificates for using encrypted email.

So, I will use the second method to avoid issues and start with a "clean" configuration.

Fortunately I will be able to use both phones for about one month and that will allow for smooth transition.

Either one should work. Be sure to delete the company management profile on the company phone (if you can) by going to Settings/General, scroll to the bottom and tap on Profiles or Device Management (whichever appears just below VPN). If the phone is actually being managed by the company through enterprise device management you won’t be able to do this, however, and you will be stuck with plan B.
